How do I apply?
You can submit your application:

We don’t charge a processing fee. However, a registration deposit is required within 7 days of placement confirmation to reserve your spot
What happens after I apply?

- 🔹 You’ll receive a Placement Package with project details, contacts, and housing info
- 🔹 Our coordinators are available 24/7 to guide you through the next steps
Do I need to book my own flight?
Yes. Once booked, email your flight details to us so we can arrange your free airport pickup in Monrovia.
VISA INFORMATION
Do I need a visa to enter Liberia?
Yes. While visas on arrival are possible, we strongly recommend securing a tourist visa from your home country in advance to avoid potential delays.
You will receive verified local contact details for your visa application once your placement is confirmed.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Is Liberia safe for volunteers?
Yes, Liberia is generally safe, especially when basic precautions are followed. Our team offers 24/7 in-country support and provides orientation upon arrival.
How should I stay safe?

- 🔹 Carry minimal valuables
- 🔹 Store passport, cash, and cards securely
- 🔹 Learn about local laws before arrival
What vaccinations are required?

MONEY & PAYMENTS
What is the currency in Liberia?
The Liberian Dollar (LRD). You can check current exchange rates at www.xe.com.
Can I use my debit/credit card?
- 🔹 Use VISA cards to withdraw cash from ATMs
- 🔹 Avoid using cards for shop payments, cash is best
- 🔹 Carry small amounts of cash, and keep it in different locations
Can I bring traveler’s cheques?
We don’t recommend it. Processing them is slow and unreliable in Liberia.
Should I bring a credit card?
Yes, for emergency use or significant expenses. A credit card with a PIN can also be used at ATMs for cash advances.

Will I be supported while in Liberia?
Absolutely. Experience Liberia is a local, hands-on program. You’ll receive:

Can I stay in touch with family?
Yes. Please bring an unlocked mobile phone. We will:

- 🔹 Assist you with Wi-Fi or data access options

What’s the weather like in Liberia?
Liberia has a tropical climate:
- 🔹 Rainy Season: May–October
- 🔹 Dry Season: November–April, including dusty Harmattan winds from December–March
Expect temps from 27–35°C (81–95°F) and high humidity. Bring light, breathable clothing.

If you’re working in a school or orphanage, consider bringing:
